Follow Me Down- The Pretty Reckless
- Dedicated to all the lost souls -
Her words made his face fall flat and his stomach knot up, “How could anyone ever treat ya like tha’?” He leaned in closer to her, running his hand over her cheek. “People are assholes, Charlotte. They don’t understand people tha’ are different, so they reject ‘em. Ya wonderful and special an’ anyone tha’ thinks or treats ya otherwise doesn’t deserve ya time or efforts, okay?” He pressed his lips to her cheek, then pulled back to look in her eyes. “I think yer brilliant an’ tha’s why I wanna go out with ya.”
“They treat me like that because I’m different from them”, she told him before biting her lip nervously. Charlotte closed her eyes and felt a shiver run down her back when, Alek ran his hand over her cheek. A smile formed on her lips as she enjoyed his touch. She wished he could keep his hand on her cheek forever. Charlotte nodded her head a few times as she listened to him. “That they are. Thanks for thinking I’m wonderful and special. It really means a lot to me”, she said before a warm smile formed on her lips. Her smile only grew when he pressed his lips to her cheek. Now she wished his lips could stay on her cheek forever. “I’m glad to hear that. I really am”, she said before she smiled at him once again.
Hayley nodded. “I am glad my words mean a lot to you. I just want to prove to you how grateful I am to you.” She smiled as she nodded towards her.
“They don’t hurt my brothers, heck they don’t even know about the bruises and the cuts all over my body. they don’t know, they don’t get hurt I am the only one who gets hit. I hate it, I hate them. I don’t stand for it either but I am the one getting it, every night when i do the slightest thing wrong. like eating a piece of rice to fast i get hit or slapped. I hate it!” She groaned.
“That supernatural is a great world. I am not so heavily involved in it but I still like it.” She smiled and nodded as she wandered around the bookstore. Many old relics and books filled the store. “i’ll just be looking around honestly.” she smiled.
Charlotte smiled back at the girl before speaking, “I can tell how grateful you are, Hayley”, she told her before giving her another smile.
A frown appeared on her face as she listened to the young girl talk. She felt so bad for her and hoped that one day she would get far away from her horrible parents who didn’t treat her with love and respect. “I don’t blame you for hating it and them. I would feel the same way if I were you”, she told her. “I’m so sorry you have to live like this. No one deserves to live like this”, Charlotte said before a weak smile appeared on her face.
“It is a great world but not all the time. It’s not like the books and movies”, she said as she brushed some hair out of her face. “But I love it and always will. It’s been my whole life and will always be my whole life.” Charlotte smiled back at the girl as she nodded her head a little. “Okay. I have to get some journals and a few books. How about I let you look around while I get the things I need and we’ll meet back here in about 30 minutes”, she said to, Hayley before a warm smile graced her lips.
she smile a little - Well I can see that you really like to travel with your family.
A warm smile appeared on her face as, Charlotte nodded her head. “I love traveling with my family. My husband is from England and we got married there. We also have a cabin there in the countryside that we love to go to a lot. We’ll probably go there for a little while during the summer.”
Hey, everyone! I’m finally logging on. I would have been on earlier to do my replies but decided to take a nap, then have some dinner and then relax for a little bit. I have three replies to do, which I’m going to do right now. As always the people I’m replying to will be tagged in this post. :)
The way Theo repeated her words honestly made her laugh pretty hard and maybe… just maybe… like the kid a little bit. Paige laughed and pointed at the kid as she looked at his mother, still caught off guard by it. “Hey, you’re alright, kid! High five!” She smirked as she held up a hand for Theo to slap.
Paige’s face looked a bit shocked as she said she had another child that was only a few months old, “Well, damn. You two must be eager to make lots of babies.” She would never understand it, but to each their own. “Mmmm…” She thought about lying as the woman asked what she did for a living. She didn’t really care that people thought it was weird… but it usually wasn’t much of a conversation carrier. Screw it. “I work at a funeral home. Makin’ em look fab in their casket.” She joked as she jokingly fluffed her hair before chuckling at her own stupidity, “Make up. I do the dead peeps make up.” She shrugged, figuring she was probably going to be royally weirded out by her now.
Theo smiled at the woman before giving her a high five. Charlotte couldn’t help but giggle again and once she stopped she placed a kiss on, Theo’s cheek. “You’re so funny and cute my little man”, she told him before giving him another kiss on the cheek. Theo, smiled at her before going back to playing with his mother’s long, blond hair.
Charlotte saw the shocked look on, Paige’s face but wasn’t surprised by it. A lot of people were shocked when she told them she had one kid who was 1 years old another that was only a few months old. A giggle left her lips, “We really are. We want five kids”, she told her as she brushed some hair out of her face. Charlotte listened to the other woman talk about her job and thought it was really cool that she worked at a funeral home. She giggled softly at, Pagie’s actions before going back to listening to her talk about her job. “Really?! That is so cool”, she said with excitement in her voice. She knew the other woman thought she would be weird out by her job but nothing could weird, Charlotte out. She was a half witch, half demon, who could shapeshift and never die. Charlotte knew weird because she was weird to other people. “I think that is really fascinating. I always wondered what it would be like to work in a funeral home”, she told the other woman.
After a few moments of silence she began to speak again. “I work at a cafe. I work behind the counter but I also sing my songs and read my poems and stories there”, she told her. She brushed some hair out of her face before continuing, “My husband works from home. He’s an artist.”
“Well I hope you are never experimented on, that is unfair to you Charlotte, I hate when people believe they can change someone by a few pills and science. Science doesn’t alway work and isn’t always the answer” Hayley was strong on the subject.
“Things like that should never happen. People dying is not the way to solve any kind of problem. My mother is a total bitch, obviously. She hates me, maybe that is why my parents abuse me, is because I bend their rules and I talk smack about them. I loved it a long time ago.” She smiled back.
“I have always had an interest in magic and craft. It makes me want to be a part of the supernatural world. I understand that certain books can’t leave homes and such. I think I’ll take a peak at them when we get back to your house.” She smiled as she walked into the shop. “thank you” she turned to look at Charlotte and nodded her head as she walked inside.
Charlotte smiled softly at, Hayley before speaking, “Thank you, your words really mean a lot to me”, she told the girl before giving her another smile.
A weak smile appeared on, Charlotte’s face as she listened to the girl talk about her parents. She really wished, Hayley had parents that cared about her and didn’t hurt her all the time. “I agree”, she said simply before brushing some hair out of her face. “Just because you do those things it doesn’t give them the right to hurt you the way they do. No parent should ever hit their kid or kids. Abusing others is sick and one thing I will not stand for.”
Charlotte nodded her head slightly, “I see. The supernatural world can be great at times but you really need to be careful”, she told the girl before giving her a soft smile. “I’m glad you understand. You can most certainly do that”, she said before a warm smile appeared on her face. “You’re very welcome”, she told the girl as she started to walk through the bookstore. “Is there anything you would like to look for first or do you just want to walk around and see what catches your eye”, she asked the young girl as they continued to walk around the bookstore.
Mikenzie nodded agreeing with Charlotte- her mother was know for being extremely harsh at times. She formed a smile before speaking again, “Um, she said she would come pick me up here, but I can just walk home,” she said before smiling once again, she was just so elated she could come home.
Charlotte brushed some of her hair out of her face as she listened to the girl. She gave her a weak smile before speaking, “Are you sure you don’t want to wait for her. Or I could drive you home if you want. It wouldn’t be a problem for me ”, she told the girl before giving her a warm smile.
